“Lake Urmia” is known as the largest inland lake in Iran and the second salt water lake in the world. Many of you have seen pictures of Lake Urmia which is red and orange and there is no news of azure water in it.

This color change occurs due to the activity of microscopic organisms inside Lake Urmia. These organisms show a more colorful presence as the lake water decreases and the salt concentration increases, to the extent that they have a significant effect on the color of the water.
